The novel won the 2004 BookSense Book of the Year Award for Children's Literature. Inkheart ( German: Tintenherz) is a 2003 young adult fantasy novel by Cornelia Funke, and the first book of the Inkheart series, which was continued with Inkspell (2005) and Inkdeath (2007).
